Hapinoy (Microventures, Inc. and Microventures Foundation, Inc.) is committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent with the way we handle your personal information in order to be your best “Katuwang” in achieving your goal for your sari-sari store business.

We have designed a privacy policy to help you understand how the personal information you have provided to us is collected, used, stored, shared and protected.

You agree to the Hapinoy Privacy Policy, the collection, use, access, transfer, storage and processing of your personal information as defined in this Privacy Policy, as a condition for access to our training material, services and business opportunities by our partners.

  1. Purpose of collecting Information

    It is essential that we gather, use, process and analyze your personal information when it is reasonable and relevant to enhance our program, training materials, services and business opportunities to offer. 

    We use your information, in particular, to do the following, but not limited to:

    • Verification of Identity

    • Offer promotions and business opportunities relevant to your Sari-Sari Store business

    • Send updates on new or ongoing initiatives

    • Developing and enhance content and materials for training

    • To understand the best or ideal material for communications through various channels

    Processing of your personal information will begin after you give us your consent.

  2. Type of Information We Collect

    Personal information

    Basic personal information, such as your name, birth date, gender, address; By making a request to the Hapinoy Data Privacy Officer, you can verify what we know about you through the contact details listed below;

    Your contact information like mobile number or telephone number and Facebook account details when you engage in our online community.

    In certain instances, we will need to collect your e-wallet information, such as full name and account number, when you participate and win in our special activities. Your e-wallet data will be used to disburse your prize.

    Sensitive Personal Information

    If you participate or interact in any of our initiatives and programs, some of your sensitive personal information such as nationality, age, marital status, religion, etc. will be collected. Supporting identity documents such as a valid ID would also be obtained.

    Store Information

    We collect information about your Sari Sari Store such as store address, contact number of the store, photo of the store, selfie inside and outside the store, business permits, store sales information every time you post or use our online tools to engage in our online community.

  3. Method of collecting Information

    We collect or obtain your personal information through our various initiatives you have been involved in and engaged with, including the following:

    • Application or registration through Facebook messenger to join the Hapinoy program, complete application form during our on-ground recruitment, or via the BizMo Mobile Application.

    • Engaging in numerous activities within our existing initiatives - Samahang Hapinoy, HapiSkwela and Hapinoy BizMo

    • Applying through Hapinoy to various business opportunities offered by our third party partners

    • Engaging with our online community, such as the Hapinoy Facebook Page, groups and other projects

    • Using our online tools such as Kita Calculator and HapiSkwela Training Module to enhance your store management skills through our Hapinoy Chatbot

  4. Transfer of Information

    We only provide our partners with your personal information and can only be used in business/process instances. It will not share or disclose any information that is not necessarily needed.

    The sharing of your personal information with our third parties will be confirmed in order for all parties to ensure that all information is shared, and appropriate steps will be taken that are consistent with our Data Privacy and Information Security Policies.

    Furthermore, your personal information may be disclosed to our third party partners for certain research and specified purposes, who may assist and/or provide additional ideas/knowledge to both parties.

    Your personal information may be disclosed to our third party and its partners only if you have given your consent during the registration process.

    We aggregate and anonymize this data when we can, so that you are never identified as an individual. [Aggregating simply means providing information in segments or categories such as age groups; anonymizing means excluding information from the data that is personally identifiable].

  5. Management of Data

    We ensure that your Personal Information is protected from risk and threats. Only approved Hapinoy personnel have access to your data and will treat it with utmost care.

    All information that has been gathered and collected will be stored safely and securely. For the purpose of requiring it for our future projects and procedures, any information will not be removed unless you have requested it by contacting our Data Privacy Officer.

    The full confidentiality of the personal information and/or data obtained is ensured by Hapinoy. Third parties shall not disclose, sell, transfer, delegate or use such information and/or data.

    However, the Organization may need to disclose your Personal Information to related entities, contracting parties, partners and other organizations, for purposes related to those above enumerated. These may include:

    1. Health and safety purposes (such as to medical providers, employee assistance providers, insurers, investigators or regulators);

    2. Third parties who provide services to the organization, so that such organizations and contractors can assist the Organizations with the purposes for which it processes your information, including marketing service providers, online service providers such as Netsuite, Chatfuel, Zendesk, SurveyCTO, etc, data processing, data analysis, document management, research, investigation, insurance, and information-vetting;

    3. Public service departments and other bodies where the Organizations is required by law;

    4. A Data subject’s authorized representatives; and

    5. Law enforcement and national security agencies, and other public authorities, as required or authorized by law.

  6. Rights of Data Subject or Hapinoy Sari-Sari Store Owner

    We value and respect your rights afforded in terms of the privacy of Personal Information under the Data Privacy Act of 2012. 

    This privacy notice is part of our demonstration of keeping their rights to be informed that we collect, process, use and share. With regard to your right to access, we can provide you the Personal Information you have entrusted to us, provided that such information is not deemed confidential or proprietary by Hapinoy, or that request for Personal Information is reasonable and with lawful reason.

    You have the right to suspend, withdraw, or order the blocking, removal, or destruction of your Personal Information in our processing systems upon discovery and substantial proof that your Personal Information is no longer necessary for the purpose or purposes for which it was collected, and for such other cases provided in the Data Privacy Act of 2012. We will mark your data in our database as “inactive” but will have to retain your Personal information in our systems in compliance with the retention period as prescribed by another law, the Anti-Money Laundering Act.  

    When you feel that the Personal Information we hold about you is not complete or updated, you can contact us through email to update your information to us.

    You have the right to seek indemnity for damages sustained, if any, due to inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained, or unauthorized use of your Personal Information.

If these changes are relevant, you will always be given notice and, if we are needed by law, we will also obtain your consent.
